Chief Executive Officer
Anticipating the unanticipated, setting our business’s ‘integrity compass’ and spearheading change. These are just some of the tasks that Tony, our CEO, lists in his job description. A firm believer that the modern business requires change – and lots of it – Tony started at Plunkett in 1985 as assistant accountant, becoming our Chief Executive Officer in 2000. Over the years, he’s overseen the launch of the Domain by Plunkett brand, driven our expansion into Geraldton and Albany, led the introduction of steel roof systems, framed housing and new technology, and managed the arrival of computer-aided drawing, GST and social media to name but a few. An advocate of the open-door management policy, even if it does mean numerous unscheduled interruptions to his day, the former President of the Housing Industry Association (HIA) says there’s never a dull moment. He expects more change is on the cards as Plunkett continues to meet the ever-evolving demands of today’s homebuyers.
A lot happens behind the scenes well before we can start building your new home, as Bill knows only too well. He’s in charge of the team that looks after all the administration involved in the pre-site commencement process. That means all the sales administration, all the estimating and all the contract administration. A qualified builder with more than 30 years of experience in residential construction and a firm focus on customer service, Bill knows the building process from start to finish. He’s always on the lookout for efficiencies that can benefit our clients, especially when it involves new technologies.
Group Building Manager
No two days are the same for Ryan who, as a registered home builder, is responsible for all three of our regional divisions, as well as our metropolitan division. Starting out as a roof carpenter 20 years ago, Ryan worked his way up through the ranks, becoming a building supervisor and then a construction manager before becoming our Group Building Manager. As a result, there’s no part of the building process that he doesn’t understand, from construction compliance, to occupational health and safety.
Jeremy is our go-to person for the latest insights into the new-homes market. He constantly has his ear to the ground, making sure he has the most recent stats and market research at his fingertips, as well as the most up-to-date feedback from our clients. He’s been with us for 10 years, but has 20 years of experience in sales and marketing in the building industry. Heading up our sales team, Jeremy also manages our display home program and is always on hand to share his design, development and investment know-how with our clients.
Want to know what the current – or future – trends are in home design? Just ask Dave. He’s done all the research. As our Design Manager, Dave’s the creative talent behind our display homes and our promotional homes. With more than 25 years design experience to his name, he relishes any opportunity to inspire our clients. Bringing something new and fresh to the market, he’ll still be mindful of functionality, budget and lifestyle.
Chris is one of our problem-solvers. A registered builder, he’s been with us for 28 of his 30 years in the building industry. Today, as head of our drafting department, it’s Chris’ job to make sure that the designs we draw up and the working drawings we prepare all comply with the Australian Building Codes, Residential Design Codes and Australian standards. It demands an excellent eye for detail, an analytical approach and first-rate organisational skills – not to mention the ability to find cost-effective and time-efficient solutions when issues do crop up.
After Sales Care Manager
Ken will tell you that we care about your new home long after we hand the keys over to you. And he’s right. A carpenter by trade, Ken started on the tools with Plunkett more than 30 years ago and for the past 10 years has been making sure things run smoothly for our clients after they’ve moved in. As well as fixing up any niggles after construction has been complete, he’s also responsible for commissioning and de-commissioning our shiny new display homes. Having worked on historic home restoration projects in Amsterdam back in the day, Ken has a keen eye for detail and believes a lifetime’s experience goes a long way – especially when it comes to customer service.
Clem is diligent when it comes to homework. Homework for his clients, that is, so that they can make informed decisions. With more than 20 years experience as a building and design consultant, he guides his clients through every step of their development with us, from feasibility studies and land acquisition, through to finance, design and construction. Mums and dads, seniors and singles have all turned to Clem for development advice, knowing that he will help them get the best outcome possible, whether they are building in their own backyard, or tackling a multi-unit project on a large site. It doesn’t matter if he’s guiding an eager, but inexperienced, first-time investor, or identifying new investment opportunities for a loyal and experienced client, Clem says it’s all about building relationships based on integrity, honesty and client-focused goals.
