Yalyalup

Yalyalup is a suburb within the City of Busselton, located just a few kilometres south of Busselton.

It is approximately 197 kilometres from the Perth CBD and an easy drive, just two and half hours down the Kwinana Freeway and Bussell Highway.

As with any location along the South West coast, you’ll be living a very relaxed coastal lifestyle should you make the sea-change to Yalyalup. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy in and around Yalyalup, whether you’re interested in outdoor adventures, cultural experiences, or simply relaxing on the beach. Being so close to Busselton, the area also has good schools, healthcare facilities, amenities, shops, cafes, and restaurants.

The Geographe Leisure Centre is the main fitness and aquatic playground for residents of all ages. There are three multi-purpose indoor courts, a state-of-the-art gym, a large group fitness studio, a separate RPM/Spin studio, two heated swimming pools, a dedicated spa and sauna area, a café and crèche.

Heading outdoors, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches. Yallingup Beach, Eagle Bay Beach and Meelup Beach are the three closest beaches all accessible within a 20-minute drive. These beaches are great for swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, fishing, stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, or just simply sunbathing! Meelup Beach has BBQ facilities and picnic tables on-site, whilst Eagle Bay Beach has several restaurants and cafes nearby where you can grab a bite to eat.

Other places to visit include the famous Busselton Jetty – the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, The Underwater Observatory, Ngilgi Cave, Origins Market and The Busselton Golf Club to name a few.

Wine lovers can rejoice as the South West region is home to some of the best wineries in WA, and you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to wine tasting and exploring the local wine scene. From small, boutique wineries to large well-known producers, there is something for everyone.

Yalyalup residents have access to plenty of quality schools around the area. Within a 5-kilometre radius there are three primary schools, three combined schools and one high school. These include; Georgiana Molloy Anglican School, Busselton Primary School, St Mary Mackillop College and Geographe Primary School. For tertiary education, there is the South Regional TAFE in Busselton.

The population of Yalyalup is estimated to be 2,486. Of the families in Yalyalup, 47.8% were couple families with children, 41.8% were couple families without children and 8.9% were one parent families.

Annual growth of the suburb is sitting at 12.2%.
