Geographe

Geographe is a suburb within the city of Busselton, and only a short 4-minute drive to the Busselton city centre – twice crowned Western Australia’s Top Tourism Town. Living in this seaside suburb is pure bliss with sweeping views of the Indian Ocean, plus white sandy beaches and calm blue waters at your doorstep. Not to mention the abundance of world-renowned wineries in Margaret River, which is just a bit further south.

Getting to Geographe takes two hours and 40 minutes, following the Kwinana Freeway and Forrest Highway south from Perth. Or you can fly into Busselton on a 50-minute flight from Perth’s domestic airport.

There are activities aplenty for the whole family to enjoy. The Geographe Leisure Centre is the main fitness and aquatic playground for residents of all ages. There are three multi-purpose indoor courts, a state-of-the-art gym, a large group fitness studio, a separate RPM/Spin studio, two heated swimming pools, a dedicated spa and sauna area, a café and crèche.

The greatest part of living by the beachside is being able to take in the sunrise and sunset with a relaxing stroll or enjoy a fun-filled day of swimming, fishing, snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing, kayaking or sailing. If you’re not keen to get into the water, there is plenty to see at the Busselton jetty. A tour of the Underwater Observatory to view the colourful corals and sea life of Australia’s best artificial reef, or perhaps a short train ride over the Indian Ocean on Busselton’s heritage-listed jetty – the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere!

Busselton is host to more than 150 events throughout the year, including the Ironman Triathlon, The Festival of Busselton, the Busselton Jetty Swim, the South West Craft Beer Festival, Forest Rally and much more. There are also regular events like markets, community concerts, and of course the annual Busselton show.

From the lively foreshore with beachside cycle paths, a buzzing cultural hub and an award-winning food and wine scene, you won’t be short of things to do when living in Geographe.

There are seven schools within a 6km radius, including Busselton Primary School, Georgiana Molloy Anglican School, St Mary Mackillop College, Busselton Senior High School and Geographe Primary School. For tertiary studies there is South Regional TAFE Busselton.
