East Bunbury

East Bunbury is an inner southeastern suburb of Bunbury, Western Australia 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) from the centre of Bunbury. It is located within the local government area of the City of Bunbury. Located 170km south of Perth, the drive from Perth city will take about two hours.

A friendly and well serviced area, East Bunbury is close to the sea, sand, and marine pastimes.

The Transwa Australind rail service terminates at East Bunbury. The Bunbury Passenger Terminal, built between 1983 and 1985, replaced the old central railway station, now serving as the Bunbury Visitor Centre and bus station.  

Currently, there are two daily departures and two arrivals of the Australind at East Bunbury throughout the week, and are operated by the Public Transport Authority.

Bunbury Forum, one of Bunbury’s two main shopping centres, is located in East Bunbury; it also contains a small neighbourhood shopping centre. You will also find several shops and food outlets. Further amenities can be located in neighbouring Bunbury.

Families are well catered for in East Bunbury in regards to schooling, with Cooinda Primary School and Bunbury Catholic College located here, and further schools in neighbouring Bunbury, South Bunbury.

The population of East Bunbury is approximately 4,000. Couple families without children make up 48.7% of the population, while couples with children make up 30.6%.
