Madeley

Madeley is approximately 20 kilometres north of the Perth CBD, in the City of Wanneroo. Previously part of Landsdale, much of the suburb was rural in character until the 90s, with market gardening a common activity. From 2001 onwards, extensive property development resulted in massive population growth.

Neighbouring Kingsley, Wangara, Darch and Marangaroo, the suburb of Madeley is a 20-minute drive to Perth’s CBD, using either Wanneroo Road or the Mitchell Freeway. If you prefer to take public transport, then the Joondalup line will be your best option for getting around the metro area. Via bus and train you can reach the city in under 40 minutes.

Madeley is conveniently located close to the Swan Valley, Perth’s CBD and Hillarys Boat Harbour. Madeley is directly east of Hillarys – simply head towards the coast, and you’ll be there in under 15 minutes. With boutique shops, delicious dining destinations and awesome adventure experiences – daytime or night, you won’t be looking far to be entertained on the weekends. The Swan Valley is likely to become a family favourite with plenty to see and do, and eat and drink. Tours, masterclasses, animal encounters and rounds of SUPAgolf, what’s not to love?

There are also plenty of parks and beautiful open spaces to get your daily dose of Vitamin D. Be sure to check out Dinosaur Park for the closest thing to Jurassic Park! If you love a good nature walk, the huge Yellagonga Regional Park is a stone’s throw away and will have you exploring all the routes for at least the first few months of living there.

The Olympic Kingsway Sports Club is a local favourite, which is home to many sporting clubs – soccer, baseball, softball and cricket are just some of the many sporting teams represented. They also host other community events like bingo nights, and the Kingsway Community Markets every Saturday. This is your chance to explore an assortment of delicious food and craft producers as well as a professional knife sharpener once a month, so bring down your knives, scissors or garden tools!

For all your shopping needs, Kingsway City Shopping Centre is just a few minutes’ drive away. The centre has a gym, medical centre, post office, plus Woolworths, BigW, Aldi and lots of food outlets.

There are plenty of schools to choose from with a mix of primary, secondary and Kindergarten to Year 12. Marangaroo Primary School, The Montessori School, Madeley Primary School, Greenwood Primary School, Kingsway Christian College, Ashdale Primary School, Ashdale Secondary College, Warwick Senior High School, Girrawheen Senior High School, Greenwood College and Woodvale Secondary College, all nearby.

The population of Madeley is 6,084 with a density of 1,960 persons per square km. The suburb is heavily populated with established couples and families, maturing couples and families, and older couples and families who make up 53.6% of total residents.

Annual growth of the suburb is sitting at 6%. Based on settled sales as of 28 February 2022, the median land price in the suburb is $425,000 (reiwa.com.au).
