South Beach is the central hub for surfing, bodyboarding, kite surfing, and stand-up paddleboarding in Port Denison—a perfect setting for a family day at the beach. Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck from jetties, platforms, or beaches, with abundant catches like tailor, snapper, whiting, dhufish, and rock lobster in season.

The Fisherman’s Lookout Obelisk offers panoramic views of the harbor and rock lobster fishing fleet, with maritime history depicted on plaques along the way. The grassed foreshore provides an ideal spot for picnics, barbecues, and children’s play.

On summer Saturday nights, experience the nostalgia of a drive-in cinema—one of the few remaining in Western Australia.

The town is populated by approx. 1,500 people and this is made up of 56% of couple families without children, and 27.1 couple families with children.

Schooling is well covered by a local combined school, Dongara District High School.
