Walpole

Walpole is located 435km South of Perth and is about a five-hour drive from the Perth CBD. Based off the South West Highway, and near the South Coast Highway, Walpole in part of the Shire of Manjimup.

Walpole is nestled amidst towering, majestic forests and awe-inspiring coastal cliffs. It lies adjacent to the northern edge of the expansive 100-hectare Walpole Inlet, from which the town draws its cool name.

Preserved as a national park since 1910, the land surrounding Walpole has captivated the hearts of many, emerging as a beloved holiday haven. The 1930s witnessed significant developmental strides, spurred by a land settlement initiative. The arrival of a railway in Nornalup in 1929 and the official gazetting of the Walpole town site in 1933 further spurred progress.

Walpole holds the distinction of being one of the few towns graced by the presence of the Bibbulmun Track, a paradise for hiking enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable experience.

The local primary school is Walpole Primary. There is a senior high school in nearby Denmark. There are also schools in Manjimup and Pemberton a bit further west.
