Woodvale

Woodvale is located approximately 19 kilometres from the Perth CBD, within the City of Joondalup and the City of Wanneroo. The area within and around Woodvale was primarily rural until the late 1970s, with residential development starting in 1979 and completed by 1995 with the release of the Woodvale Waters housing estate.

Its prime northern location is close to both the city and the shore. In less than 30 minutes, jump in the car and cruise down the Mitchell Freeway to the Perth CBD. Change direction, and you’re just a quick 15-minute drive to Hillarys Boat Harbour for all your shopping and dining needs. If you need public transport, convenience is on your doorstep with Whitfords Train Station only five minutes away from the suburb centre. Heading straight down the Joondalup line will get you into the CBD in about 20 minutes.

Another huge bonus to this suburb is being so close to the WA coastline and the natural beauty that awaits. Mullaloo Beach and Hillarys are both only a 10-minute drive, giving you two great options for a quick morning swim, or a weekend family day out. If fitness is more your thing, a picturesque jog along the water’s edge is a great way to start the day.

There are plenty of amenities in and around the suburb. Places to keep the family active include Craigie Leisure Centre, Kingsley Tennis Club, Chichester Park Disc Golf Park, various netball and football clubs to join, and plenty of local parks and playgrounds, with the biggest being Yellagonga Regional Park. The park is approximately 13 kilometres and contains several lakes and wetlands, and walking and cycling trails. Woodvale Nature Reserve is another ideal location for a walk, a jog or a cycle.

If community engagement is a must, then Woodvale would be a great place to set up home. From social dancing to a public library, there is something for everyone. Woodvale has two churches as well as a Children and Family Community Centre. For a chance to meet new people, kick back on a Friday or celebrate an occasion, head down to the local Woodvale Tavern for a pint or two.

Woodvale also has two shopping complexes, each with a supermarket and many take-away food choices. Westfield Whitfords City is also an easy five-minute drive.

Living in Woodvale, gives you the choice of three local primary schools; Woodvale, North Woodvale and St Luke’s Catholic Primary School, and one secondary school, Woodvale Secondary College. Other schools nearby include; Halidon Primary School, Creaney Primary School, Belridge Secondary College and many others located just outside the suburb’s borders. For pre-school, there is Care For Kids School of Early Learning.

The population of Woodvale is 9,132 with a density of 1,557 persons per square km. The suburb demographics is mainly couples and families – established, older and maturing, who make up 51.6% of the total residents.

Annual growth of the suburb is sitting at 15.9%. Based on settled sales as of 2 May 2022, the median land price in the suburb is $272,000 (reiwa.com.au).
