Connolly is a northern suburb of Perth located approximately 26 kilometres from the Perth CBD. The suburb was developed in the late 1980s as a Golf Course Estate and was named in honour of John Connolly, a former resident and farmer in the area.

Connolly is located in the City of Joondalup, served by Mitchell Freeway and Marmion Ave. A commute to work in the CBD will take around 22 minutes, whilst local bus services will provide connections to Perth CBD, and the nearby Whitfords or Joondalup train stations.

The ideal location means you get the best of being near the beach, whilst also being just 5-minutes away from Joondalup’s city centre and a short 20-minutes away from Perth’s CBD. Mullaloo Beach is about a 5-minute drive and Clayton’s Beach just over 10 minutes. Residents love that they can escape from the city life but also easily commute to work every day.

Retail shopping is very convenient with Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City adjacent to the Joondalup railway station. This is currently the second largest shopping centre in WA with eight anchor tenants and over 300 stores. If quick shops are what you’re after, there are plenty of places to top up your groceries including a Spudshed, IGA and a 7-eleven nearby.

Connolly is not short on entertainment options with plenty to keep everyone in the family occupied. For those who want to keep active, there is the Joondalup Golf Resort, and the Ocean Reef Boat Harbour and Sports Club. The kids can enjoy a day out at one of Perth’s biggest aerial superparks – Latitude Perth, and finish off with a family dinner and movie night at Currambine Grand Cinemas complex.

The suburb is served by a single primary school – Connolly Primary School, located on the eastern side of the suburb. Government school students attend different high schools based upon which side of the golf course they reside. Those on the western side attend Ocean Reef Senior High School, while those in the east attend Belridge Senior High School. Some students opt to attend Lake Joondalup Baptist College or Prendiville Catholic College, both independent schools. For tertiary studies there is the Edith Cowan Joondalup campus within a 5-minute drive.

The population of Connolly is 3,749 with a density of 1,296 persons per square km. The suburb is heavily populated by older or established couples and families that comprise just under 60% of total residents.
