Dardanup is a small town in the South West region of Western Australia. Located around 176 kilometres from Perth – about two hours’ drive – this town packs a punch in terms of lifestyle and location.
Nestled amidst a picturesque hinterland adorned with rolling green farm hills and vineyards, Dardanup offers an appealing semi-rural way of life.
Until 1999, when the Shire’s Administration Centre relocated to Eaton, Dardanup held the role of the administrative centre. Even today, the Shire retains an office situated at 3 Little Street in Dardanup.
Dardanup is situated in the heart of the Ferguson Valley, and is the gateway to even more beautiful countryside, forests and bushland, as well as some quirky tourist attractions such as Gnomesville. Dardanup emanates a profound sense of heritage and historical significance, integral to its communal identity. This has resulted in the enduring association of many local family names with the region, spanning multiple generations.
In more recent times, its tranquil semi-rural ambiance, coupled with its proximity to larger urban centres and infrastructure, has lured numerous residents to live here. Amenities include a corner store, hardware emporium, post office, bakery, tavern, church, and recreational amenities.
Within the Dardanup Townsite, you’ll find two primary schools – Dardanup Primary school and Our Lady Of Lourdes School. For secondary schools families can find Eaton Community College not too far away.
