The wonderful Perth weather lends itself to outdoor entertaining. Because of this there truely is no better place to incorporate an indoor/outdoor kitchen into your home. With this in mind, it can double the size of your entertaining zone, allowing you to entertain year-round!
The Simple Solution
Sometimes it’s simply a case of adding in a gas strut window into your indoor kitchen. Furthermore by adding a gas strut window it will create a seamlessly connected to the outdoors. In addition, get the benefits of a dedicated outdoor setup, without having to double up with a sink and more bench top. Not to mention it is a great solution if you’re not exactly a whiz with the barbecue.
If you have a smaller sized alfresco or patio this is a great solution. Also allowing you to dedicate more space to an outdoor dining table or comfortable lounge set.
An indoor/outdoor kitchen is super-practical, especially when you’re entertaining. You can easily serve food and drinks to guests, and plates and glasses cleared away quickly. Equally, the chef of the day won’t ever be far away, which means they’ll never feel left out of the party.
This stylish design feature can even make even everyday mealtimes feel a bit special. For instance in a home that has a holiday or resort-inspired feel to it.
Indoor/outdoor living is a key focus in all Plunkett home designs. With this in mind, we’ve illustrated several ideas for blurring the lines between the kitchen and the great outdoors.
Bi-fold Servery Windows
In our Cambridge display we included a set of bi-folding servery windows between the kitchen and the alfresco. As a result, this paves the way for a variety of design features to maximise the indoor/outdoor link in this contemporary home. There are many benefits to top hanging the bi-folding windows. Thus there is no track to interrupt the flow if you wanted to extend the kitchen bench top outside. This can create an alfresco breakfast bar, for example. Our partners over at Jason Windows have great examples of this on their website – Here.
Open up the bi-folding doors in our North Hampton display and suddenly the kitchen and dining room of this Hamptons-style display becomes an integral part of the alfresco.
Looking for a cheaper way to bring the kitchen outdoors. Simply structure your internal kitchens position adjacent to a set of doors out to the alfresco. This can often be enough to make the indoor and the outdoor space feel beautifully connected. We illustrated in the Riviera Display. Inspired by the glamour of 1950s Palm Springs. The bank of sliding doors opens up to take you from the kitchen, straight outside.
All of our floor plans can be customised. There’s always scope to add in your own ideas for indoor/outdoor living.
