Wanneroo

Wanneroo is approximately 25 kilometres from the Perth CBD, located within the City of Wanneroo.

Nestled between Yellagonga Regional Park, Sinagra and Hocking, Wanneroo boasts a prime location close to pristine, white sandy beaches and coastal sunsets. It is also well located to enjoy the benefits of inner city living. If you need to catch public transport, the Joondalup railway line services the suburb from Whitfords Station, a short 25-minute train ride from the city. Or jump on the freeway, and you will be parking the car in the Perth CBD in approximately half an hour. Not bad for a spot so close to the beach!

Burns Beach and Ocean Reef both sit within a 15-minute drive from the suburb. Burns Beach is a family favourite when it comes to swimming spots, sheltered amongst a wild-life rich ecosystem. There are plenty of grassy spots to cook up a snag post swim! Ocean Reef Marina is heading into a huge redevelopment and will be a bustling spot to rival Elizabeth Quay in no time.

The suburb promotes a relaxed, well-balanced lifestyle with a number of parks, gardens and lakes in its local area. There are plenty of other activities to keep your weekends. There’s the Wanneroo Botanic Gardens and Mini Golf, and Wanneroo Regional Museum to explore. Enjoy the waterfront along Lake Joondalup or join the Lakelands Country Club. If you love markets, there’s the local favourite Wanneroo Markets which started in 1980 and is still going strong today. The markets are open Thursdays to Sundays, with some of the best cuisines from around the globe, plenty of fresh produce, unique gifts and homewares, plus entertainment for the kids with free face painting and pony rides. It’s the perfect spot to spend your weekend morning or afternoon.

For shopping destinations, Wanneroo Central is your local centre with all the supplies you’ll need for your weekly groceries with a Coles and Aldi. There are also other major retailers like Kmart, Red Dot, a medical centre, post office, bakery and lots of dining options. If you want to shop until you drop, Westfield Whitford City is less than a 15-minute drive and Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City is only 10-minutes away.

You’ll be pleased to know the local primary schools in the area include Wanneroo Primary School, St Anthony’s School, Hocking Primary School and East Wanneroo Primary School. High schools include Wanneroo Secondary College, Woodvale Secondary College, Belridge Secondary College, and Ocean Reef Senior High School.

The population of Wanneroo is 12,971 with a density of 646 persons per square km. The suburb demographics is mainly couples and families – older, established and maturing, who make up 49% of the total residents.

Annual growth of the suburb is sitting at 18.1%. Based on settled sales as of 28 March 2022, the median land price in the suburb is $249,000 (reiwa.com.au).
