Stirling

Stirling is a northern suburb approximately 10 kilometres from the Perth CBD and located within the City of Stirling. If you want to be close to the city, beach and freeways, this might be the location for you. Stirling is close to the Mitchell and Kwinana Freeway, meaning easy access across all areas of Perth. You can head straight down the Mitchell freeway for your morning commute to the CBD and get there in under 15 minutes. If you need public transport, Stirling is served by the Stirling train station, which is a 9-minute commute to the CBD on the Joondalup line. There are also plenty of local bus services around the area.

Residents love that the location is within walking distance to everything they need. Beautiful parks and reserves fill the suburb like Shearwater Reserve and Roselea Estate Lake, both great for a walk or a picnic. The Stirling Civic Gardens are also an excellent area for BBQs and family outings. For a change of scenery, why not head down to the beach? In under 15 minutes you can be enjoying the sun, surf and sand at Trigg Beach, Scarborough Beach or Mettams Pool.

Stirling’s central location makes shopping for your daily groceries a breeze. With so many options, you’ll be able to hunt around for the best bargains. Stirling Village Shopping Centre is the local place which has you covered with the basics, including an IGA, pharmacy, hairdresser, butcher and café. Roselea Shopping Centre is only 3-minutes away in Balcatta and has a Woolworths. Stirling Central Shopping Centre in Westminster has a 24-hour Spudshed, and there is also a Farmer Jacks in Gwelup which is a 4-minute drive. You’ll never be short of options!

The shopping doesn’t end there though. If you’re after a bit of serious retail therapy, Westfield Innaloo is just 7 minutes away, and Karrinyup Shopping Centre is an easy 8-minute drive. If you’re looking to get some fresh air on the weekend, why not head to the Stirling Farmers Market, open every Sunday from 7:30 – 11:30am. Here you’ll find great fresh local produce, direct from the grower, and you’ll be able to enjoy a delicious breakfast or coffee whilst listening to some local buskers.

Other amenities in the area include the Osborne Park Hospital, a 205-bed community general hospital which offers some specialist services as well as radiology and pathology, and the Balcatta Child Health Centre. For recreational activities there is the Stirling Miniature Railway, Stirling Leisure Centre in Karrinyup, fitness gyms, lawn bowls, golf courses and much more.

There are no schools within the suburb catchment, but Balcatta Senior High School is located on the northern boundary of the suburb. There are many good schools located in nearby suburbs including Yuluma Primary School, Newborough Primary School, Osborne Park Primary, St Lawrence Primary School, Servite College, Balcatta Senior High School and Churchlands Senior High School.

The population of Stirling is 9,157 with a density of 1,991 persons per square km. The suburb is heavily populated with couples and families – older, established and maturing, who make up 58.1% of the total residents.

Annual growth of the suburb is sitting at 19.4%. Based on settled sales as of 14 March 2022, the median land price in the suburb is $750,000 (reiwa.com.au).
