Alexander Heights

Alexander Heights located within the City of Wanneroo is approximately 14 kilometres northeast from the Perth CBD. Alexander Heights was established in the 1980s. The suburb was initially named ‘Alinjarra’, an Aboriginal word for ‘north’. When developments started to build up in 1987 the suburb was renamed to Alexander Heights – a name derived from the main road in the suburb, Alexander Drive. Alexander Heights is bounded by Hepburn Avenue in the north, Alexander Drive in the east, Marangaroo Drive in the south, and Mirrabooka Avenue in the west.

Alexander Heights ticks all the boxes when it comes to nearby amenities with a variety of shops, services and many schools to choose from. The local schools of the area are Alinjarra Primary School and the Alexander Heights Early Learning Centre. Nearby schools include Illawarra Primary School, Koondoola Primary School, Girrawheen Senior High School, Kingsway Christian College, and Landsdale Christian College.

Residents of the area rave about the suburb saying it is excellent for fitness, lifestyle, restaurants and nature escape. The Alexander Heights Shopping Centre and the Landsdale Forum Shopping Centre are the spots for a local shop. For some retail therapy, Joondalup Shopping Centre, Westfield Whitfords, and Centro Galleria are all about 20 minutes from the suburb. This northern area also has two medical centres, so you know you will be looked after.

The abundance of parks and reserves would make anyone want to buy a home here. The Koondoola Regional Bushland borders the suburb, a perfect location for dog walking, jogs, or family picnics. Ian Robbins Park is great for the kids with an awesome playground. The Ballajura Community Centre neighbours the suburb, great for outings, functions and holiday programs. A quick 20-minute drive to Sorrento Beach and Hillary’s Boat Harbour will give you a change of scenery.

Residents praise the suburb for its number of local bus services that take travellers all around Perth. The local buses can get you to the Perth CBD in 45 minutes, or by taking the bus to Warwick Train Station, the Joondalup line will take you wherever you need. The Mitchell Freeway or Alexander Drive will be a part of your daily commute, getting you to the City in approximately 25 minutes.

The population of Alexander Heights is just over 8,000 with a density of 2,517 persons per square km. Established couples and families make up the largest percentage of the population at 26.5%, followed by older couples and families at 21.1% and independent youth at 11.1%. Annual growth of the suburb is sitting at 8.4%. Based on settled sales as of 13 December 2021, the median land price in the suburb is $230,000 (REIWA).

As of 21 January 2022, there are two land lots available in Alexander Heights with approximately 100 lots available in nearby suburbs.
