Our plan for COVID-19

How does COVID-19 impact on your home building journey with us?

Adapt. Communicate. Progress.

Western Australia has seen some big changes over the past fortnight in the response to COVID-19, and Plunkett has adapted the way we do things, as we all learn how to navigate this new, temporary normal together.

It’s no surprise that people who are in the process of building a new home may be feeling uncertain in this time of uncertainty, but we remain positive that this too shall pass.

As of this week, the State Government has formalised that Residential Construction is being categorised as an ‘Essential Service’.

We have received this authorisation because residential construction sites by their very nature are quite isolated and with only a handful of contractors on-site at any one time they are a safe space to continue to work as long as the health and safety guidelines are being adhered to.

What does this mean for you, our valued clients?

Is the office open?

All Plunkett Homes offices throughout the state will be closed from Monday 30th March 2020. Our entire team will be working remotely to ensure that your new home journey remains on track.

This is our way of doing our bit to ensure that the sooner we stop the spread of COVID-19, the quicker we can all get back to life as we know it.

How can I communicate with the team?

We want to stay in touch with you and are happy to communicate through a variety of mediums including live chat, email, phone, Zoom meeting, Skype and FaceTime. This includes meetings with our Sales and Design team, appointments with our New Home Administrators, and checking progress on site with our Supervisors.

If you have a preferred way of contacting us that we haven't listed here, let us know and we will be happy to give it a go!

A full list of phone numbers can be found on our Contact Us page.

How can I see the display homes?

As per government directive, our display homes are now open by virtual appointment only.

You can organise a live virtual guided tour via Zoom or FaceTime with one of our Sales and Design team who can answer any questions you may have about the home then and there.

Alternatively, our Virtual Display Home Tours are a great way to explore a ready-built Plunkett home from the comfort of your own home. All our display home tours are accessible via our Homebuyers' Hub. This is as good as it gets to seeing the real thing.

We also have 360 photography available of our current displays, with more to be added next week.

Can I view a home under construction that isn't mine?

Often, our Sales and Design team will take prospective clients through homes under construction similar to that of which they are interested in building to help get a feel for the layout.

We are still offering this service in accordance with health and safety measures from the government, however, if you would prefer not to meet face-to-face we have Interactive 3D floor plans available of our Olympus, Bodega Bay, Avon Lodge, Monument, Opulence and Universal designs, with more floor plans to be added to the list shortly.

If there is a home you would like to view in this format, get in touch and let us know.

I have a Pre-Start meeting coming up, how will I do this?

Great news, we are now able to conduct a fully-online pre-start!

What happens if my home is currently being built?

Work on-site is marching on to ensure that your home is delivered within expected timeframes. Our site supervisors and trades are strictly adhering to government health and safety recommendations on site.

You will still be able to visit your home throughout the build, but we ask that you organise a time to inspect with your Site Supervisor prior to showing up. This is for the health and safety of the tradespeople that may be working on your home.

Mandatory site meetings such as your Tile Meeting will go ahead as scheduled and will be coordinated with your site supervisor as required.

The construction of my home is coming to completion, what happens now?

Practical Completion meetings will go ahead as scheduled.

We will have strict distancing and health disclosure systems in place, which your Supervisor/New Home Administrator will run through with you prior to the meeting.

We're all in this together

We remain committed to supporting you in your new home building journey, and your health and the health of our team is our utmost priority.

Plunkett Homes is backed by the JWH Group, one of Western Australia’s largest building groups, meaning that we have the financial strength, buying power and trade resources to weather this storm.

As we begin to spend more time in our homes over the coming weeks, we encourage you to take this opportunity to get inspired and observe what truly ‘makes a house a home’ for you.

We also encourage you to share these insights with our team to help us provide the best service and products in what will be a brighter future.

When you’re ready to build, we’re ready to listen.
