Kudos in the kitchen
We’ve added a scullery-style pantry fitted with open shelves, an extra section of benchtop and additional overhead cupboards.
“Our clients like having a separate section of kitchen that can be used for keeping messy prep work out of sight or storing those kitchen essentials you use regularly but don’t necessarily want on show,” Dave says.
“We’ve also designed the kitchen and scullery area so that it flows neatly into the laundry. It means all the hardworking utility areas are kept together.”
The Newtown’s roomy U-shaped kitchen features a 900mm oven, cooktop and rangehood, lots of storage space and benchtop, a breakfast bar, and windows in lieu of a splashback to ensure the whole space is flooded with natural light.
“It’s the sort of family kitchen you want to hang out in,” Dave says.
The kitchen adjoins the large open-plan living area, where a big bank of sliding doors leads out to the alfresco and gardens.
Garden view bedroom
The rear master suite also opens out to the gardens, presenting an opportunity to create a second outdoor living space.
“We’ve designed the master suite as a private retreat that feels a world away from the busy family areas and the kids’ wing,” Dave says.
There’s a generous dressing room that leads directly off the ensuite where we’ve included a double shower and twin vanities separated by a section of wall to create two distinct zones.
It’s a little bit different, but splitting up the vanities has given the bathroom an extra design edge that has really appealed to many of our clients.
Outside, a feature wall clad in stone-look tiles has been teamed with a striking garage door, rendered walls and a double-door entry to give the Newtown strong street appeal.
Ideal for a 16m-wide block, the floor plan offers 279sqm of accommodation, including the double garage, porch and alfresco.
